OSTEOPATHY

OSTEOPATHY is a hands-on, holistic form of manual therapy that focuses on the alignment, mobility, and function of the entire body. Grounded in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, osteopathy helps to relieve pain, restore movement, and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Rather than just treating symptoms, osteopaths look at how your muscles, joints, nerves, organs, and circulation are working together. By identifying and addressing restrictions or imbalances, osteopathy works to restore balance and promote long-term wellness.

TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE is based on an ancient philosophy that looks at nature, and specifically the body, in terms of two opposing forces: yin and yang.  When these forces are imbalanced, it results in illness and when balance is restored, the body is healthy.

Throughout the body there are pathways called meridians, in which energy, called “qi” (pronounced “chee”) flows.  When the energy is flowing smoothly, the yin and yang forces are balanced. When there is a blockage in the flow of energy, similar to water being blocked by a dam, it results in illness, pain or lack of function in the body.
